Blockchain

Liechtenstein can rightly call itself a global leader in the field of blockchain. The country offers particularly favorable framework conditions for companies in the blockchain sector thanks to the open-minded attitude of the financial market regulator and other authorities and its access to the entire EEA market.

With the Blockchain Act (VT-Dienstleister Gesetz; T-VTG), which came into force on 01.01.2020, Liechtenstein is the first country in the world to offer comprehensive regulations for a token economy. In addition to a licensing requirement for services in the blockchain sector, the law also regulates civil law aspects of the creation, ownership and transfer of tokens for the first time, thus creating legal certainty for both service providers and investors.

We advise and support clients in setting up companies in the field of blockchain technology in Liechtenstein. In particular, we accompany Initial Coin Offerings (ICO), Security Token Offerings (STO), Initial Exchange Offerings (IEO), procedures for the admission of tokens to trading venues and advise on the Liechtenstein Blockchain Act (T-VTG). Our clients benefit in particular from our expertise in financial market law issues, which often overlap with the topic of blockchain.
